Glow Without The Glitter

Some days I want my makeup to look polished, but I still want my skin to feel like skin. That usually means keeping the base lighter and adding glow in a more controlled way rather than piling on highlighter afterwards.
I’ve been trying these three products in slightly different ways, and what I like most is that each gives me a different kind of luminosity. None of them feels like it needs a complicated routine around it.

1. MARS Take A Glow

The MARS Take A Glow immediately appealed to me because I prefer glow products that can disappear into the rest of my base rather than sit obviously on top of it. I usually apply a small amount before foundation or mix it with something sheer when my skin looks a little flat. What surprised me is how easy it is to control the effect: I can keep it subtle for daytime or build a little more light on the high points of my face. I also like that it makes my makeup look fresher without forcing me into a very glossy finish. For me, this is the one I reach for when I want the glow to look as though it is coming from the skin itself.

2. Insight Strobe Cream

The Insight Strobe Cream in Dewy Gold feels like the most obvious glow step of the three, which is exactly why I enjoy it when I want a warmer finish. I tend to use it on the cheekbones and around the temples rather than all over my face. The texture spreads easily, so I only need a little, and I find it works better when I press it in with my fingers instead of rubbing too much. The result feels more luminous than subtle, but still easy to soften depending on what I wear underneath.

3. Swiss Beauty Glow Up Strobe Cream

The Swiss Beauty Glow Up Strobe Cream has become my middle-ground option. I like using it under makeup when I want brightness without making the whole base look noticeably dewy. It feels light, blends quickly, and is especially useful on mornings when I do not want to spend much time layering products. I also find it easy to combine with a more natural foundation because it adds life back into the finish without changing the entire look.
After trying all three, I noticed that I use them for different moods rather than choosing one fixed favourite. MARS feels polished and seamless, Insight gives me a warmer glow, and Swiss Beauty works well when I want something quick and uncomplicated.
