Two Powders I Reach For

Powder can completely change the way my base looks, but I am quite picky because I still want my skin to look like skin. I usually prefer formulas that soften shine and blur the complexion without creating a dry, flat finish.
Recently, I have been reaching for two very different powders from Dior and Charlotte Tilbury. One feels more transparent and versatile, while the other adds a subtle brightening effect.

Dior Forever On Set Powder 00 Translucent

Dior Forever On Set Powder in 00 Translucent is the one I choose when I want to set my makeup without noticeably changing the colour of my foundation. The loose texture feels extremely fine, so I can apply a light layer around my T-zone, under my eyes and anywhere my makeup tends to move.
What I enjoy most is how natural it looks once everything settles. It takes away excess shine but does not leave my face looking overly powdered, which is exactly what I want for everyday makeup. I usually press it onto the skin with the included puff rather than sweeping it everywhere, because that gives me the smoothest result.
The translucent shade also makes it easy to use with different base products without worrying about adding extra warmth or depth.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Loose Powder Brightening Peach

Charlotte Tilbury’s Airbrush Flawless Finish Loose Powder in Brightening Peach has a slightly different purpose in my routine. Instead of simply setting the base, I use it when I want certain areas of my face to look fresher and more awake.
The soft peach tone is especially useful under the eyes and through the centre of the face. I find that it gives the complexion a subtle brightening effect while still keeping the finish refined and smooth.
The powder feels lightweight, and I prefer applying a small amount because that is enough to create the polished effect I want. The packaging also feels particularly luxurious, and the velvet puff makes application feel a little more special.
The Dior powder is my choice for an invisible everyday set, while Charlotte Tilbury works better when I want extra brightness. Both give me a smoother finish without taking away the natural dimension of my skin.
