Uneven-looking skin can be frustrating, especially when my complexion looks dull even after a full night of sleep. I tend to look for brightening products that fit into a routine without making it feel like a chemistry experiment.
Clarins and VOLITION caught my eye for different reasons: one combines vitamin C with AHA, while the other pairs vitamin C with hyaluronic acid.

1. Clarins Multi-Active Glow Serum with Vitamin C + AHA

For days when my skin needs a little extra radiance. The combination of vitamin C and AHA makes this serum stand out to me. Vitamin C is commonly used to improve the appearance of uneven skin tone, while AHAs help exfoliate the skin’s surface. Together, the ingredients make this an interesting option for a routine focused on dullness and a smoother-looking complexion.

2. VOLITION Strawberry-C Serum with Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid

A brightening step with hydration in mind. Strawberry-C has a different appeal because of its combination of vitamin C and hyaluronic acid. I like the idea of addressing dullness while also giving my skin a hydration boost. Hyaluronic acid helps attract and retain water, making it a useful ingredient when skin feels dehydrated or looks less plump.
My decision would come down to what my skin needs most. Clarins appeals to me when I want a combination of brightening and exfoliation, while VOLITION sounds more suited to a routine that pairs brightening with hydration. I’d introduce either one gradually, keep the rest of my skincare simple, and stay consistent with sunscreen to help protect against further dark spots.
