Highlighter is one of those makeup steps I didn’t take seriously at first. It seemed optional—something extra. But over time, I started noticing how just a touch of light in the right place can change how everything else looks.
It doesn’t add coverage or color in the usual sense, but it shifts the whole mood of the face in a subtle way.

1. Focallure Beam Baked Powder Highlighter Ultra Glow

This one feels more playful in its finish. The glow shows up quite easily, so a little goes a long way. I usually tap it lightly on the high points of my face when I want something a bit more noticeable without going full shimmer. It has that soft reflective look that catches light nicely, especially in natural daylight. I tend to use it when I want the skin to look a bit more lively, not flat or matte.

2. Catrice Glow Lover Oil-infused Highlighter

This one feels more refined and controlled. The glow is finer, less flashy, and blends into the skin in a more natural way. It doesn’t sit on top too obviously, which makes it easier to wear for everyday looks. I like using it when I want something subtle—just enough light to make the skin look healthier rather than highlighted. It has a soft-focus effect that feels more polished without being obvious.
The difference between these two is really about intensity. The Focallure one leans brighter and more noticeable, while the Catrice highlighter stays closer to the skin and blends in quietly. One is for moments when I want a bit of glow to be seen, the other is for when I want it to be felt more than noticed.
