Dry winter makes people want to dive into the water. How to save the dry indoor air?
Hydroponic plants are not only the most natural humidifier but also eye-catching.
There are quite a few types of plants that can be hydroponically grown, like our common Hanging Orchids, Greens, Coptis, Bamboo, and so on.
Selectivity is a lot. If you don't know, go to the flower and fish market to buy and ask clearly.
Hydroponics, the method of growing plants without soil, has gained increasing popularity in recent years due to its numerous benefits.
One of the advantages often overlooked is its ability to act as a natural humidifier.
In a hydroponic system, plants are grown in a nutrient-rich water solution, which is constantly flowing past their roots.
Unlike traditional soil-based cultivation methods, where plants rely on the soil to extract moisture, hydroponics provides a consistent water source directly to the roots.
In a hydroponic system, the plants have access to abundant water, allowing them to transpire more efficiently.
As a result, moisture is released into the air, increasing the humidity within the growing area.
This effect is similar to a traditional humidifier, which adds moisture to the air to increase humidity levels.
Higher humidity levels can help prevent dry skin and respiratory problems in individuals, particularly during winter when indoor heating systems can strip moisture from the air.
It can also counteract the negative effects of air conditioning, which often leads to drier indoor conditions.
Hydroponics is more beautiful and convenient than soil cultivation. There are some precautions.
1. Optimal temperature: 5-30℃.
2. Light: suitable for diffused light and avoid direct sunlight.
3. Nutrient solution: first, put the plant into the water to adapt for a few days, then add the nutrient solution purchased from markets, and follow the instructions to adjust the appropriate proportion.
4. Cleanliness and hygiene: Every time you change the water, rinse the roots of the plants and containers with clean water, and don't forget to trim off the dead leaves and rotten roots to avoid contaminating the internal environment of hydroponics.
5. Moisturize and keep warm: when the climate is dry, sprinkle the foliage with water to maintain humidity. You can choose a small spray bottle for spraying. Two times a day is appropriate. When the indoor temperature is lower than 5℃, you should pay attention to keeping the plant warm.
