My Everyday Base Edit

· Fashion Team
I’m always drawn to base products that make the skin look better without completely covering it. For me, foundation should even things out, not erase every bit of natural texture, and blush should bring some life back into the face without looking overly obvious.
These three products fit that kind of routine really well.
When I Want A More Polished Base
Clarins Double Serum Foundation is the one I’d choose on days when I want my complexion to look more refined and put-together. The packaging immediately gives it that skincare-meets-makeup feel, and I’d personally use it when I want a smoother, more perfected base without jumping straight to something extremely matte or heavy.
I’d start with a small amount and blend it outward from the centre of the face, adding a little more only where I actually need extra coverage. That usually gives me a much more natural result than applying a full layer everywhere from the beginning.
This feels like the kind of foundation I’d save for work days, dinners or any time I want my makeup to look a little more polished.
For Easy Everyday Coverage
Clinique Even Better Makeup SPF 15 feels much more like my everyday option. I like foundations that sit somewhere between sheer skin tint and full coverage, and this is the type of formula I’d reach for when I want my complexion to look more even without feeling overly made up.
I’d apply it with fingers or a damp sponge for a softer finish and concentrate the coverage around redness, the nose and any uneven areas.
The SPF 15 is a nice extra, but I still wouldn’t treat foundation as my main sunscreen. For me, proper SPF underneath makeup is still non-negotiable.
The Colour I’d Add Last
Shikstudio blush looks like exactly the kind of product I’d use when my base starts looking a little too flat. The soft pink tone is easy to imagine on the cheeks, especially with a fresh, neutral makeup look.
I’d pick up only a small amount and tap it onto the apples of the cheeks, blending slightly upward toward the temples. I personally prefer blush that looks diffused rather than sharply placed, so I’d build this gradually instead of applying too much at once.
It also looks like one of those products that could instantly make the whole makeup look feel fresher, even if the rest of the face is kept very simple.
What I’d Choose
I’d use Clarins when I want a more polished complexion, Clinique for an easy everyday base, and the Shikstudio blush whenever my makeup needs a little warmth and freshness. Together, they feel like a simple combination for skin that still looks like skin.
