You know when makeup looks so much better simply because your skin feels comfortable underneath? That’s why I like paying attention to skincare prep before reaching for foundation or concealer.
My ideal lineup is pretty simple: a refreshing toner, a moisturizer that helps keep my skin comfortable, and sunscreen to finish the morning routine. HANYUL, Purito Seoul, and Dr. Althea make a lovely trio for that fresh-skin feeling.
1. HANYUL Artemisia Soothing Toner
Starting with a fresh, hydrated base! HANYUL Artemisia Soothing Toner is the kind of first step I’d reach for when I want my skin to feel refreshed after cleansing. Artemisia, also known as mugwort, is often used in skincare formulated for soothing and comforting the skin.
I like the idea of patting a toner gently onto my face instead of rushing straight into moisturizer. It gives my skin a little extra care without adding a heavy layer. Before makeup, I’d let it absorb properly so the products that follow have time to settle.
2. Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream
This is the step I’d pay attention to when my skin needs moisture but I still want my makeup to sit nicely. Purito Seoul Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream features bamboo-derived ingredients and panthenol, an ingredient commonly used to support hydration and the skin barrier.
I’d smooth on a comfortable layer and give it a few minutes before applying sunscreen. The goal isn’t to leave my face feeling slippery; it’s to keep my skin moisturized so foundation doesn’t emphasize dry patches.
3. Dr. Althea Green Tea Fresh Sunscreen SPF50+ PA+++
No morning skincare prep feels complete without sunscreen. Dr. Althea Green Tea Fresh Sunscreen offers SPF50+ protection, making it a product I’d consider for the final step before makeup. Green tea is also a familiar skincare ingredient in formulas designed with a fresh, lightweight feel in mind. I’d apply a generous, even layer to my face and neck, following the label directions, and allow it to settle before putting on makeup.
For me, good makeup prep is less about having a dozen products and more about getting the basics right. HANYUL brings the refreshing toner step, Purito adds moisture, and Dr. Althea finishes the routine with sun protection. Once my skin feels comfortable, I can keep the makeup simple and let the fresh, natural finish do its thing.
