Cushion foundation has become one of my favorite ways to get my base done without making the whole routine feel like a project. I especially like cushions that give enough coverage while still keeping the skin looking fresh and comfortable.
I’ve been looking at two different options lately, and both have a slightly different character. One feels more hydrating and easygoing, while the other leans toward that polished soft-glow finish.

1. JUNG SAEM MOOL Essential Skin Compact Cushion Foundation — 21W Medium

The JUNG SAEM MOOL cushion in 21W Medium caught my attention because the shade has a warm medium tone that feels easy to work with for my complexion. What I like about this type of cushion is the balance between makeup and skincare-like comfort.
The hydrating finish gives the base a softer appearance rather than making everything look overly matte. I’d reach for this one on days when I want my makeup to feel fresh but still put together. The compact format is also a big plus for me. It’s easy to carry around and convenient for touching up without bringing a whole collection of products.

2. Yves Saint Laurent Skin Affair Soft Glow Cushion Foundation — MC1.5

The YSL Skin Affair Soft Glow Cushion Foundation in MC1.5 gives me a completely different impression. The soft-glow finish is the main reason I’d pick this one. I love a base that catches a little light without turning overly shiny, especially when the rest of my makeup is kept simple.
MC1.5 is described as a medium cool 1.5 shade, so the cooler tone makes this an interesting choice when I want my complexion to look more balanced with my overall makeup. There’s something about a luxury cushion that makes a simple makeup routine feel a little more special.
Both cushions have their own appeal. JUNG SAEM MOOL would be my pick for a comfortable, hydrating everyday base, while YSL feels more suited to the days when I want that refined soft-glow finish. Personally, I’d happily keep both in rotation. One for easy everyday makeup, one for those moments when I want my base to have a little extra elegance.
