I've tried plenty of formulas over the years, yet only a few have earned a permanent place in my makeup bag.

2. Laura Mercier Caviar Smoothing Matte Lipstick – Shade 143 Sateen

I used to think matte lipsticks would always feel dry, but this one completely changed my mind. Shade 143 Sateen gives me that soft, refined look I love while still feeling surprisingly comfortable throughout the day. The finish looks smooth instead of flat, which makes it feel a little more modern.

The color has become one of my favorite everyday shades because it's easy to pair with almost anything in my wardrobe. I also like that I don't have to constantly check the mirror every few minutes. Even as the hours go by, the color fades in a flattering way instead of turning patchy. That's a huge reason why I keep reaching for it.

Some lipsticks look beautiful in the tube but never become part of my routine. The ones that stay are the products that make getting ready feel easy, and both of these do exactly that.
