Welcome, Readers! Finding exfoliating products that actually agree with extremely sensitive skin feels like winning the skincare lottery. Some leave me feeling uncomfortable afterward, so whenever I find something that makes my skin feel smooth and fresh without causing a reaction, it earns a permanent spot in my routine.
I’ve been loving these two masks lately, and they give me completely different exfoliating experiences.
1. Kora Organics BHA Pore and Brightening Treatment Mask — $52
This has been sitting in my routine for around six months now, and I can genuinely tell a difference in the overall appearance of my skin. One of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to it is how soft and glowy everything feels afterward. I’ve also noticed some of my dark spots looking less noticeable over time, which made me even more excited to keep using it. I like that I can use it either as a mask or as a scrub, but I personally prefer letting it sit rather than rubbing it around.
2. Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment — $98
Okay, this one is definitely an investment, but I understand the hype. My skin feels incredibly smooth and refreshed after using it. The difference in texture is probably the first thing I notice, especially when my skin has been feeling a little rough or dull. The exfoliation feels much more intense compared with the Kora Organics mask, so I don’t use this one frequently. Once every two weeks is plenty for my routine.
Kora Organics is the one I reach for when I want something that feels more gentle and easy to work into my routine. Kate Somerville is my pick when I want a stronger exfoliating treatment and that super-smooth feeling afterward. With sensitive skin, I’ve learned that stronger doesn’t automatically mean better. Finding products that my skin actually enjoys is much more important to me. These two have definitely earned their spots on my shelf. Now I’m curious—what exfoliating mask has been your favorite lately?
